Lazeez Hakeem Wins Swiggy Restaurant Awards 2025!

Lazeez Hakeem sets yet another benchmark! The restaurant has won the award for the Best Biryani in the restaurant awards organized by Swiggy.

Food ordering platform Swiggy organises these awards annually, through which they aspire to provide recognition and highlight the restaurants serving the best quality food over various cuisines. This competition was organised for a period of approximately a month during which the customers could vote for their favourite restaurants and the restaurant with the highest votes would win.

Lazeez Hakeem emerged as the clear winner, leaving its competitors far behind in the game. Lazeez Hakeem secured an extraordinary number of votes—surpassing the combined total of all restaurants in certain cuisine categories.

This accolade has added to the various milestones the restaurant has achieved over time.

Lazeez Hakeem has developed a great reputation over the years for being really picky when it comes to their raw materials and other ingredients. They pride themselves on sourcing the freshest vegetables and premium-quality meat for every dish, which is believed to be one of the reasons behind their clear victory.

My father took us to this restaurant when I was little and now I bring my family here at least twice a month. We love both, the taste and the hospitality they offer!”

Deepak Gupta, a regular customer at the restaurant shares, Coming to their star dish, their ‘Biryanis’. According to Mr. Missilal, chef that has been working with the restaurant for over 40 years, the recipes used are still the traditional, unchanged ones that were developed and invented by the founder, late Mr. Hakimuddin Husain himself.

The owners pride themselves for using the exact same conventional methods for making their signature recipes that were used five decades back as well. They literally spend 4 hours making a single batch of dishes like Bhuna Ghosh and Keema Kaleji.

Missilal used to work with Hakimuddin. He learnt all the recipes first hand from him. All the recipes used even today are originals taught to Mr. Missilal by him.

Lazeez Hakeem has a legacy of over 50 years. Started by late Mr. Hakimuddin Sahab in late 1970s, to being expanded and nurtured by his son, Mr. Tahir Husain, to being modernised by Mr. Mohammad Husain, this restaurant has been taken care of like a little baby which grows with utmost care and love!

Lazeez Hakeem has been the no.1 choice for many Bollywood celebrities and renowned faces as well. Some of the Bollywood celebrities that have visited and loved the food and hospitality here are Priyanka Chopra, Prakash Jha, Saurabh Shukla, director duo Abbas-Mustan, Rajkumar Santoshi, Raza Murad, Sushant Singh, Ayesha Khan and the list in endless.
