Washington: Toyota recently unveiled a 6 feet 3 inches (1.9 m) humanoid robot that shoots hoops better than professional basketball players.

Following are some of its features:

    - Its name is Cue and the android can shoot with nearly 100 percent accuracy at short distances.

    - As per Mail Online, it can score hoops by artificial intelligence. It is said to have thrown some 200,000 practice shots.

    - It is 190 cm) tall. However, it is shorter than the average NBA player at 6 foot 7 inches.

    - Cue has been developed by the Tokyo-based Toyota Engineering Society.

    - It squats when given a ball and then throws it using the same movements as a real player would do.

    - Cue can reportedly score from distances of up to 12 feet (3.6 meters).

    - It can be seen scoring free-throws during a practice shootout with real athletes in a video.

    - Cue can be seen to score 100 percent of his efforts. On the other hand, professionals Seiya Ando and Zack Baranski netted eight of their ten shots together.

    - As per reports, it is attached to a small platform connected by power cables. Thus, it cannot move around the court.

    - Cue's design is based on cartoon character Sakuragi Hanamichi. It is the main character in Japanese manga Slam Dunk.

    - In the show, Hanamichi is introduced to basketball after he is rejected by girls repeatedly.
