Cargo Aircraft Lands Safely In Chennai After Engine Fire: Report

A cargo aircraft was reportedly forced to land in Chennai after its engine caught fire, according to media reports.

The engine of an international cargo flight coming from Kuala Lumpur caught fire while landing in Chennai on Tuesday, as per media reports. 

According to official sources quoted by PTI, the fire was extinguished after the plane landed. No casualties were reported in the incident.

In a separate incident, a single-engine plane carrying four people on board, trying to land at Montana's Kalispell City Airport on Monda,y collided with a parked plane, causing a massive fire, but no one was seriously injured, according to media reports.

The pilot and three passengers on board managed to eject after the plane came to a stop. Two passengers suffered minor injuries and were treated at the airport.

Kalispell Fire Chief Jay Hagan said, "The plane caught fire while landing, but the pilot and three passengers managed to eject after the plane came to a stop. Two passengers suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene."

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the plane crashed off the end of the runway while landing and collided with an empty plane parked on the ground. The collision caused a fire that spread to a nearby grassy area before it was extinguished.

In March, a FedEx plane had to make an emergency landing after its right engine caught fire shortly after taking off from Newark Airport. According to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and FedEx, the fire was caused by a bird strike. There were no casualties in the incident. Video showed the Boeing 767-3S2F heading back to the tarmac as flames spewed from the right engine. 

Earlier on February 24, a Delta Air Lines flight headed to South Carolina had to return to Atlanta after the cabin was filled with "haze" and smoke.
