Delhi experienced a rainy morning on Tuesday, with intense showers lashing several parts of the national capital. Meanwhile, neighbouring Noida also woke up to rain. 

Areas including the Nizamuddin flyover, Vijay Chowk, Minto Bridge, Moti Bagh flyover, and Rafi Marg witnessed heavy rainfall. Furthermore, rains are likely to continue in Delhi until Saturday, August 16.

IMD Forecast For Delhi 

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Tuesday's forecast says "thunderstorm with rain." The maximum temperature is going to be 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is going to be 25 degrees Celsius.

Skies will remain mostly cloudy with chances of hazy sunshine in between. The early morning showers, though not very heavy, have led to waterlogging in several low-lying areas.

Meanwhile, as per ANI, waterlogging was seen on the Rao Tularam Marg after heavy rains in the morning. 

The evening is likely to stay cloudy and warm, with humidity on top. According to  IMD’s latest report, similar weather with cloudy skies and occasional rain may continue over the next couple of days.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued severe weather warnings for Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh also amid ongoing heavy rainfall. 

Uttarakhand Weather Update

In Uttarakhand, a red alert is issued for several districts, including Rudraprayag, Haridwar, Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, and Nainital, with heavy to very heavy rains expected from August 12 to 14. 

Kedarnath Yatra Halted

Kedarnath Yatra has also been temporarily halted for three days to ensure pilgrims safety.

Residents near rivers are advised to move to safer zones, mountain activities and water levels are monitored closely by Weather experts and district officials.

Security and disaster management teams are on high alert to handle any emergencies.

Himachal Death Toll Hits 229 

Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh continues to witness the monsoon activities and disasters, with over 229 deaths reported since June 20 due to rain-related incidents and road accidents.

The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has reported extensive damage to infrastructure, agriculture, and livestock, with losses exceeding Rs 2,000 crore.

Ongoing landslides and road blockages are disrupting relief efforts, and authorities have warned people to remain vigilant and follow safety advisories as heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in coming days.

According to the met dept, rainfall will intensify in the entire Bihar on Aug 12-13. There is a possibility of very heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in 19 districts of North Bihar, while South Bihar will witness intermittent torrential rains.

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Kolkata forecast scattered rain and thunderstorms across South Bengal districts till Thursday, while heavy rain is set to continue in North Bengal.

Thunderstorm warnings are in place for North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, East Midnapore and Nadia districts for Tuesday.

IMD has forecast a prolonged spell of widespread rain across Telangana, with heavy to very heavy showers expected in multiple districts between August 12 and 15. The forecast includes Hyderabad, where heavy rainfall is likely on August 12 and 13.

Light to moderate rain may occur over northeast India, east Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Lakshadweep, Kerala, coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa.

Light to moderate rain with a few heavy spells may occur over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Assam.

Light rain may occur over Jharkhand, north Chhattisgarh, Marathwada, central Maharashtra, Gujarat, east Rajasthan, and parts of Punjab, and Haryana.
