After heavy rainfall on Monday in Karnataka's Bengaluru, the capital city witnessed intense waterlogging, hindering daily life and movement. Several visuals of the waterlogging show rescue operations helping citizens, and others also revealed how water entered people's homes. 

As the rescue ops assisted the stranded families, the Karnataka government also sprang into action. According to the news agency ANI, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah informed that 104 mm of rain was recorded, and added that one individual died due to a wall collapse.

The CM and his deputy, DK Shivakumar, will go around the city on Wednesday, along with all the MLAs of Bengaluru.

"Due to the continuous rains in the city, Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao held a virtual meeting with officials today and gave necessary directions. Complaints received from citizens in all sectors of the city should be responded to promptly by the control rooms and the problems should be resolved. He directed the officers to always work proactively to respond quickly to the citizens. Zonal Commissioners are in constant touch with fire stations in all 8 zones of the corporation and instructed them to utilize firefighting personnel and vehicles in emergency situations," tweeted BBMP.

Bengaluru Rain Updates: IMD Predicts Continued Rainfall For Karnataka

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted over the west coast (Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, and Kerala) and Peninsular India from May 19 to May 25. 

Furthermore, IMD specified that extremely heavy falls are predicted over Karnataka on May 20 and 21.
