Pakistan Ceasefire Violation HIGHLIGHTS: Despite the announcement of a ceasefire by India and Pakistan, there was a violation by the Pakistan army on Saturday evening in the Akhnoor, Mendhar, R.S. Pura, Chamb, Bhimber and Gurez sectors, while loud blasts were also heard in Srinagar. Hours after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire, Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah claimed that explosions were heard across Srinagar.

This comes hours after US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the two countries have agreed to a ceasefire. After Trump’s announcement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land, air and sea with effect from 5 PM Indian Standard Time on Saturday. India and Pakistan had agreed to stop all firing and military action on land, in the air and at sea.

Following a call its DGMO made to his Indian counterpart, reports came of Pakistan violating the cessation of hostilities with India's air defence intercepting Pakistani drones amid a blackout in Srinagar. Red streaks were seen and explosions heard as India's air defence intercepted Pakistani drones. Loud explosions were heard in Srinagar.

A complete blackout has been enforced in Pathankot and Ferozepur in Punjab and Jaisalmer and Barmer in Rajasthan. India and Pakistan on Saturday worked out an understanding on the stoppage of firing and military action. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar noted in a post on X that India will continue its firm and uncompromising stance against terrorism.

"India and Pakistan have today worked out an understanding on the stoppage of firing and military action. India has consistently maintained a firm and uncompromising stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. It will continue to do so," he said.

Earlier, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri told the media that Pakistan's Director General of Military Operations contacted his Indian counterpart on Saturday afternoon.

"Pakistan's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) called Indian DGMO at 15:35 hours earlier this afternoon. It was agreed between them that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land and in the air and sea with effect from 1700 hours Indian Standard Time," he said".

Today, instructions have been given on both sides to give effect to this understanding. The Directors General of Military Operations will talk again on May 12 at 1200 hours," he added.

Pakistan Ceasefire Violation LIVE — 'If Pakistan Dares Take Action...': Armed Forces Issue Strong Warning

Director General Naval Operations Vice Admiral A N Pramod on Sunday said the Indian Navy has full maritime dominance and is prepared to deliver a massive blow in response to any provocation from Pakistan under the ongoing framework of Operation Sindoor.

Vice Admiral Pramod issued a clear warning to Pakistan, stating, "This time, if Pakistan dare take any action, Pakistan knows what we are going to do, that's all," he said.

Speaking in Delhi, the Director General Naval Operations said, "I will make few sentences and leave it for your imagination. First of all, we have quantitative and qualitative edge to deliver a massive blow to our adversary. And we completely dominate in the maritime front."

He added that the Navy's role is part of a broader joint operations plan. "The Indian Navy's action is part of the escalation ladder mechanism which we have worked out amongst the three services."

Earlier, the Indian Armed Forces on Sunday held a detailed news conference addressed by the Director Generals of Military operations, Naval operations and Air operations, detailing the success of Op Sindoor in eliminating terror targets deep inside Pakistan.

Vice Admiral A N Pramod informed that the Indian Navy's operational edge at sea played a decisive role in Pakistan's "urgent request for ceasefire."
Vice Admiral Pramod said, "Along with the kinetic actions by the Indian Army and Indian Air Force, the overwhelming operational edge of the Indian Navy at sea contributed towards Pakistan's urgent requests for a ceasefire yesterday."

Pakistan Ceasefire Violation LIVE — Called Pak's Nuclear Deterrent Bluff, No Engagement On Kashmir: Report

The Indian Armed Forces on Sunday held a detailed news conference addressed by the Director Generals of Military operations, Naval operations and Air operations detailing the success Op Sindoor had in eliminating terror targets deep inside Pakistan.

Sources told news agency ANI that Operation Sindoor is still on and all countries with whom India had conversations after April 23 and after military actions have been informed that if Pakistan fires, we fire – this is the new normal. There is a quantum jump in our reaction to Pakistan's misadventure. We have called their nuclear deterrent bluff.

The agency sources also said that India is not ready to engage on matters of Kashmir. The only thing left in Kashmir is Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK). The message is that the DGMO-level talks are the channel of communication about cessation of military action. No third country or no third party is to be involved in this. India will not be ready to engage with anybody or any party other than the Pakistan DGMO.

This response comes after US President Donald Trump earlier made an offer to mediate between Pakistan and India on the Kashmir issues. India has always rejected third-party mediation on the issue and maintained that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.

Ceasefire News LIVE: We Have Capability To Target Every System At Pakistan's Bases, Says IAF

Air Marshal AK Bharti on Sunday emphasised the country's military capabilities, stating that India has the ability to target every system at Pakistan's bases.

This statement comes amid heightened tensions between the two nations, following India's recent military operation, Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. India's military operation involved precision strikes on nine sites identified as terrorist infrastructure, including militant camps in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Bahawalpur.

Addressing a press briefing about the Indian Armed Forces' decision to strike back after a mass drone raid by Pakistan on the night of the 8th and 9th, which began as early as 22:30 hours, Air Marshal Bharti said, " We have the capability to target every system at these bases and more. However, it was only a measured response to instil good wisdom to our adversary to refrain from further escalation. IAF's response was directed only at military installations, avoiding civilians and collateral damage."

Air Marshal AK Bharti revealed that Pakistan launched a massive drone attack on Indian cities, including Srinagar and Naliya, on the night of May 8-9, starting at 22:30 hours. According to Bharti, Indian air defense forces were prepared and successfully countered the drone attacks, preventing any damage to intended targets.

Pakistan Ceasefire LIVE: Our Job Is To Hit Target, Not To Count Body Bags, Says Air Marshal AK Bharti

The precision strikes carried out by the Indian armed forces had "desired effects on the enemy targets", Air Marshal AK Bharti said on Sunday, without elaborating on the loss of lives to the Pakistan Army.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 to strike multiple terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir after a deadly attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam last month in which 26 tourists were killed. "Our aim was not to inflict casualties, but in case there have been, it is for them to count. Our job is to hit the target, not to count the body bags," Air Marshal Bharti said.

Addressing the media on Operation Sindoor, Air Marshal Bharti refrained from disclosing technical details of the weapons and calibres employed, citing operational confidentiality.

"I never mentioned any of the weapons and calibre that we used--we leave it at that. Those are matters of operational details that I would not like to get into," he said. He said whatever methods and means were chosen "had the desired effects on the enemy targets".

"How many casualties? How many injuries? Our aim was not to inflict casualties, but in case there have been, it is for them to count. Our job is to hit the target, not to count the body bags," the Air Marshal said, when asked about the loss of lives to the Pakistan Army.
