Anyone in India with a smartphone can download and use the mAadhaar App. Residents without an Aadhaar-registered mobile number will be able to use only a few services, such as Locate Enrolment Center, Verify Aadhaar, and Scanning QR Code. A registered mobile number is required for all other Aadhaar services.

Look for the MyAadhaar area at the upper left of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) official website. Under the 'Aadhaar services' area, select "verify my email/ mobile number" and enter information such as the card number, mobile number, and captcha.

UIDAI intends to open 166 single Aadhaar Enrollment and Update Centers in 122 locations. Aadhaar Seva Kendras (Model-A ASKs) in Model A can handle 1,000 enrollments and update requests per day. Aadhaar services are only available in Banks, Post Offices, Common Service Centers (CSC), Office of State Government Officers, and UIDAI-operated Aadhaar Service Centers.

Known as ‘Aadhaar Services on SMS’, this option helps cardholders to avail many benefits in a hassle-free way. It will also help in making changes in the Aadhaar card through mobile phones. This UIDAI’s service is aimed at extending support to those users who do not have access to the internet, resident portal, or mAadhaar app.

In order to avail such facilities, users first need to send an SMS from their registered mobile number to 1947, and the format of the SMS changes as per requirements. Through the Aadhaar SMS facility, users can get Virtual ID Generation/Retrieval, Lock/Unlock Aadhaar number, enable or disable Biometric Lock and temporarily unlock biometrics.

UIDAI sources said that the above charges shall be in addition to the licence fees and financial disincentives, as applicable.
