Hitting out hard at the Samajwadi Party, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Saturday said the ongoing rift in the party is around wealth and loot of Uttar Pradesh, adding that the split was imminent as the party was not based on decision and ideology.

Extending her support to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee has wished him well and asked him to stay strong.

Dubbing the ongoing Samajwadi Party feud as a `family drama`, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday extended its support to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and said the latter would emerge as an established leader.

Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Saturday termed the crisis in the party as "unfortunate" and asked party members to support Mulayam Singh Yadav in the family feud which has seen Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav being expelled.

Asserting that Uttar Pradesh must not suffer due to infighting within the Mulayam Singh Yadav family, Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi on Saturday hoped all issues between Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his father and party chief would get resolved soon.

Shivpal Singh Yadav's resignation on Thursday exposed the bickering in the Yadav clan in the run-up to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls just a few months away.
