Sacking of a defiant Arunachal Pradesh Governor Jyoti Prasad Rajkhowa seems imminent with Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who met President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday, believed to have conveyed that his continuance in the post has become untenable.

Rajkhowa has been told "verbally" by a junior Union Minister and a senior official of the Home Ministry to step down on "health grounds", sources said.

The Budget session of the sixth Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh will begin from March 21 next.
