Prime Minister Narendra Modi will look to reinvigorate the BRICS group of emerging nations at a summit this weekend with India seen as a bright spot in a bloc whose clout has been undermined by economic woes.

India will on Thursday host a meeting of the BRICS trade ministers here in New Delhi, during which the leaders will adopt a framework to enhance economic co-operation among the member nations.

The first trade fair of the BRICS countries, aimed at deepening their economic engagement, trade and investment ties, got underway here on Wednesday, to be followed by meetings of the BRICS Business Forum and BRICS Business Council, ahead of the leaders` summit in Goa later this week.
