Rajasthan Assembly session to begin from 11 am on Friday. BJP to move no-confidence motion today. Cong revokes suspension of MLAs Bhanwarlal Sharma, Vishvendra Singh, who rebelled against Gehlot govt.

Rajasthan Congress will not stage protest in front of Raj Bhawan on Monday as part of a nationwide call given by party, said Govind Singh Dotasara.   

Congress had given calls for demonstrations in all district headquarters. Cong accuses BJP of conspiring to topple Gehlot govt. In Jaipur, the demonstration was held at the Youth Congress office.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will on Saturday hold another Cabinet meeting to discuss the political situation in the state. According to reports, the meeting will take place at 12:30 noon at the Fairmont Hotel where the MLAs of Gehlot camp are staying. 

The Rajasthan High Court is scheduled to deliver a verdict on the plea of dissident Congress leader Sachin Pilot and 18 supporting MLAs who have challenged the disqualification notice served against them by the assembly Speaker. 

Pilot and his supporting Congress MLAs had challenged a disqualification notice given by the Assembly Speaker in the Rajasthan High Court.

The notices to MLAs were served after the party complained to the speaker that the legislators had defied a whip to attend two Congress Legislature Party meetings on Monday and Tuesday last week. 

In a big relief to Sachin Pilot and his supporting MLAs, Rajasthan High Court on Tuesday (July 21) told Assembly Speaker that no action would be taken against the former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and 18 rebel MLAs till July 24. 

According to reports, Pilot has been upset since Congress picked Ashok Gehlot as Rajasthan Chief Minister after the 2018 assembly polls, while his own supporters insisted that he deserved credit for the party's victory as its state unit president.

The crisis in the Congress government in Rajasthan over the leadership issue reached the stage where the party took disciplinary action against Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and MLAs supporting him. On Tuesday, after a key party meet, Pilot was sacked from the posts of Rajasthan Dy CM and state PCC chief.

A repeat of what took place in the political world of Madhya Pradesh in March this year is now seen building-up in Rajasthan. A high-voltage drama between the young and old brigade of Congress unfolded in the state, thus bringing the Gehlot-led Congress government in Rajasthan into a deep crisis.

Former party president Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are among the senior leaders who have been in touch with Sachin Pilot. The second meeting of the Congress Legislature Party was announced several hours after the first one ended on Monday afternoon, skipped by Pilot and 18 other party MLAs.
