Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain's custody to the Enforcement Directorate has been extended by two weeks in a money laundering case. 

This came after the ED shared pictures of the almost Rs 2.8 crore cash and 1.8 kgs in gold coins seized from the aides of Jain who were raided on Monday.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday prayed for speedy recovery of Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain after his condition worsened and he was shifted to the Max Hospital in Saket.

Delhi Health Minister, Satyendar Jain informed that a total of 2375 positive cases have been reported in Delhi. He also said that a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Principal Health Secretary, to frame security protocol for healthcare workers. While speaking to ANI, he said, “A total of 2375 positive cases have been reported in Delhi as of now and out of these 128 were reported yesterday. Total 808 people have been recovered so far. The 128 cases were the case of ‘local spread’. Under the chairmanship of Principal Health Secretary, we have made a committee to frame security protocol for healthcare workers. Immediate action will be taken against those who’ll try to harm healthcare workers.”

Several documents, chequebooks having transactions worth crores belonging to AAP leader Satyendar Jain were seized during CBI raids on Sunday.

The Delhi Health Minister's lawyers had said the purchase of assets from the proceeds of benami transactions, as contended by the income tax department, would not be benami as per the unamended Act.

Justice Vibhu Bakhru issued notice to the income tax department and directed it to file an affidavit on Jain's plea and listed the matter for hearing on October 11.

The Minister said the Health Department will run media campaigns to spread public awareness on dengue and chikungunya and by putting up hoardings.

Jain was questioned at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) headquarters in south Delhi`s Lodhi Road area. 

The CBI on Thursday questioned Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain in connection with a money laundering probe initiated against him for allegedly turning black money into white in 2010-12 and 2015-16 using his companies and Kolkata-based data entry operators.

Reacting to the turmoil within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Monday said he was deeply disappointed by the allegations of corruption against Arvind Kejriwal and that the latter should step down from his post.

Resolute on his stand, Delhi`s Health Minister, Satyendra Jain, has reiterated that Chikungunya cannot cause deaths, and added that this is a fact that is available on Google, and not his opinion.

Chikungunya is taking its toll in Delhi, with at least four deaths due to the vector-borne disease reported in the last two days.
