At least 43 people have died while over 50 rescued so far after a fire broke out at a factory in Delhi's Anaj Mandi area near Rani Jhansi Road in the early morning hours on Sunday, according to police.

According to Delhi Fire Service Director Atul Garg, the building did not have a fire clearance and no fire safety equipment was found installed on the premises.

The factory was making handbags and lots of raw material was stored inside the building due to which the fire spread quickly, media reported.
