The government has amended norms to make it mandatory for packaged food manufacturing firms to display retail price and quantity among other six details more prominently in at least 40 per cent of the packet area, effective from July
"Supreme Court option is neither ruled in nor ruled out," Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) Chairman Ashish Bahuguna said.
Food safety regulator FSSAI on Thursday extended the deadline for food companies to get licence to run their businesses by another six months to February 4, 2016.
The Secretary also informed that Food Processing Ministry is seeking comments and views from all stakeholders including the industry on GST for the food, agri and horticulture products.
