The India Metrological department on Saturday (July 11, 2020) said in its forecast that the monsoon has started shifting to the Himalayan foothills.
The National Disaster Response Force, Assam State Disaster Response Force personnel, along with the local administration, are continuously working to rescue the affected people and render relief services, including distribution of relief material to the marooned villagers.
The states of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh and eastern parts will also receive widespread rain and hailstorm from January 27 to January 29 with maximum intensity on the January 28.
Rains continued to lash many parts of South India, with the weather office forecasting more showers for Wednesday.
