Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti News
It was the second expansion of the council of ministers since Mehbooba Mufti formed the government with the BJP in April 2016.
The chief minister has also held meetings with leaders of other opposition parties in the state, including Jammu and Kashmir Congress President G A Mir and DPN chief Ghulam Hassan Mir.
"I would like to appeal to both nations, Pakistan and India, to not to indulge in unprovoked firings," she told the media here.
The chief minister said the futility of violence to achieve political goals had been established beyond doubt.
"I say today with authority and I will be criticised for it also. If anyone can find a solution to Jammu and Kashmir problem, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Mufti said.
She made the comments during her meeting with BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav here.
"We are thankful to our Prime Minister. The tunnel inaugurated will bridge distances, be it in travel or between people," Mehbooba said.
This is a "big challenge" and the "wise people" of the state would rise to the occasion to make the state progressive and forward-looking, the Chief Minister said.
