Ranbir Kapoor Summoned In Online Betting App Case: Sources from the ED indicate that Ranbir Kapoor is supposed to have received a huge amount of money from the promoters of the Mahadev app in exchange for promoting it on social media.

The Centre has issued an advisory to news websites and OTT platforms It has asked them to refrain from carrying online betting ads on their platforms It also warned private satellite television channels of penal action under applicable laws for violation of the advisory

The ministry said the advisory has been issued in larger public interest and comes in the light of instances of a number of advertisements of online betting websites/platforms appearing in print, electronic, social and online media.

The accused were running an inter-state online cricket and three-cards (Teen Patti) betting racket.
