Prices of pulses News
Wholesale prices of pulses are gradually falling and its impact will be reflected soon in retail markets as hoarders can not hold the stock for long with arrival of new crop from next month, Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said Thursday.
Prices of pulses have continued to remain at an elevated level of 34.45 percent in March, marking a double-digit inflation in lentils since January 2015, though several other essential kitchen staples have shown moderation in rates.
The prices have declined from the peak of Rs 200 per kg in October to Rs 160 at present due to various government measures including unearthing of hoarded stock and offloading that in the retail market.
