This morning ISRO did an autonomous landing test of its reusable launch vehicle with DRDO and Air Force. ISRO scientists have designed a low-cost launch vehicle that will repeatedly go into space like a rocket and after coming back will land on the runway like a plane.
The RLV-TD was launched from Sriharikota on the coast of the Bay of Bengal in Andhra Pradesh at 7 a.m today.
The 6.5 metre long 'aeroplane'-like structure weighing 1.75 tons was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Andhra Pradesh, about 80 km northeast of Chennai off the Bay of Bengal coast.
