In the latest development, Rishabh Pant has been officially appointed as the new captain of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Earlier, Punjab Kings appointed Shreyas Iyer as their captain for IPL 2025. 

The decision to appoint Pat Cummins comes in the wake of SRH's disappointing performance in IPL 2023, where they languished at the bottom of the points table.
