A huge posse of personnel was deployed and barricades were put up at the main entry points from Haryana from where the INLD workers are expected to enter Punjab to dig the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal.

Congratulating the people on the favourable verdict, the chief minister said the state would soon get water from the SYL Canal.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday welcomed the Supreme Court`s verdict in the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal row, wherein it declared the legislation passed by the Punjab Government as null and void, saying it is a positive step for the people of Haryana as they truly deserve this.
