Austria registered 90,000 asylum claims in 2015, government figures showed on Tuesday, a rise of more than 200 percent compared to 28,000 the year before and just 11,000 in 2010.

Hungary has accused Austria of confusing "solidarity and stupidity" after Vienna said that nations which do not accept their share of refugees under European Union quotas should face sanctions.

 Austria called on Hungary to stick to EU laws concerning the migrant crisis, after the two had a heated exchange.
