Israel-Iran War Tensions Live Updates: The conflict between Israel and Iran entered its 12th day on Tuesday. Tensions between the two Middle Eastern nations began when Israel launched 'Operation Rising Lion' on June 13, targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, military bases, and senior commanders.
In response, Iran initiated its military operation, named Operation 'True Promise 3', launching drone and missile attacks against Israeli targets.
Tensions escalated further in the region after US on Saturday carried out 'Operation Midnight Hammer,' bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. US attacked Iran as it has always opposed Tehran possessing a nuclear weapons programme.
Condemning the strikes, Iran stated it "reserves all options" to defend itself.
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Australian PM Anthony Albanese, Japan's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya have extended support US over the strike.
The ongoing conflict has raised concerns about the security of the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial chokepoint separating Oman and Iran. With 20 million barrels of oil transported each day, any disruption in the crucial chokepoint of the Strait of Hormuz could send global energy prices soaring. The security of the strait is crucial as Iran has repeatedly threatened to close it in retaliation for Western actions.
US Strikes Fell Short, Iran’s Nuclear Program Remains Largely Intact: Report
The Washington Post, citing a classified U.S. intelligence assessment, reports that recent American airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear sites did not achieve their intended goal of crippling the programme.
According to the report, the strikes only delayed Iran’s nuclear progress by a few months and failed to destroy the core infrastructure. An unnamed source familiar with the findings said Iran’s uranium stockpiles remain untouched.
While the White House has not denied the existence of the assessment, officials dismissed its conclusions as “flat-out wrong”.
Senator Rand Paul Questions Effectiveness Of Strikes On Iran’s Nuclear Programme
Republican Senator Rand Paul has expressed skepticism about the impact of recent U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, and whether they will achieve their intended goals.
“Will this prevent Iran from pursuing a nuclear weapon or actually push them further toward one? That is still an open question,” Paul said during an appearance on the War Room podcast hosted by Steve Bannon.
His remarks come in response to President Donald Trump’s claim that a full “payload” of bombs had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. Iranian officials have offered limited information on the damage, publicly minimising the significance of the attacks.
Strikes Weakened Iran’s Nuclear Capabilities, US Tells UN
The United States has told the UN Security Council that its recent airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites succeeded in reducing Tehran’s ability to develop a nuclear weapon.
“These strikes effectively achieved our limited objective to degrade Iran’s capacity to produce a nuclear weapon,” said Acting U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Dorothy Shea.
Shea defended the operation as an act of collective self-defense under the UN Charter, saying it aimed to reduce threats to Israel, regional stability and global security.
President Donald Trump earlier claimed the strikes had “completely and totally obliterated” key nuclear facilities in Iran. However, a preliminary U.S. intelligence assessment cited by Reuters suggests the damage may have delayed Iran’s program by only a few months.
Russia Accuses US, Israel Of Breaking UN Charter With Strikes On Iran
Russia has denounced the recent airstrikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian territory, calling them a breach of international law.
Speaking at the UN Security Council, Russian Ambassador Vasily Nebenzya said, “The Russian Federation strongly condemns these attacks, including those targeting Iran’s civilian nuclear facilities, which are under IAEA safeguards.”
He added, “The actions taken by the US and Israel represent a direct violation of the UN Charter.”
IRGC Dismisses Reports Of Drone Strike In Tabriz
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has rejected claims of a drone attack in the northwestern city of Tabriz.
Earlier on Tuesday, Iranian outlets reported the activation of air defense systems in the region, raising concerns amid the fragile ceasefire between Iran and Israel. The IRGC, however, stated no aerial threat had occurred.
US Strikes Failed To Destroy Iran’s Nuclear Facilities, Reports CNN
Airstrikes ordered by President Donald Trump on Iranian nuclear sites failed to wipe out key elements of the programme, according to a U.S. intelligence assessment reported by CNN.
“The core components remain intact. At best, the strikes delayed Iran by a few months,” a source familiar with the findings told the network.
Despite the limited impact, Trump publicly called the operation a “spectacular” success, insisting the targeted sites had been “obliterated".
Israel Says It Intercepted Suspected Iranian Drones Outside Its Borders
The Israeli military says it brought down two drones approaching Israeli airspace from beyond the country’s borders.
According to the statement, the drones were “apparently from Iran", though no further details were provided on their origin.
Unlike previous incidents, where Israel clearly identified the source of incoming drones or missiles, this time officials offered no confirmation beyond suspicion.
IRGC Quds Chief Seen In Tehran After Reports Of His Death: Media
Media outlets linked to Iran-aligned groups, including Yemen’s Al Masirah TV, have circulated footage that appears to show Esmail Qaani, commander of Iran’s Quds Force, alive and present at a public gathering in Tehran.
The video, if verified, would debunk recent claims that Qaani had been killed in an Israeli strike.
Qaani has led the elite Quds Force since 2020, following the assassination of his predecessor, General Qassem Soleimani, in a U.S. drone strike in Baghdad.
'Finger On The Trigger If Israel Strikes Again', Warns Iranian Parliament Speaker
Iran is prepared to respond swiftly and forcefully to any future aggression, said Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. He declared that Tehran emerged from the recent war with Israel without surrendering its missile or nuclear capabilities.
“We ended this round of Israeli aggression without compromising our strategic programs. We act only in the interest of our proud and resilient nation, and we trust the enemy not at all,” Ghalibaf told Tasnim news agency.
He warned, “We are ready to pull the trigger instantly if any new threat emerges.”
Ghalibaf also slammed the United Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency for what he called their failure to prevent Israeli and American attacks.
“In the face of intense military and psychological warfare, it was the Iranian people who stood firm, united and unafraid,” he said.
Israel Signals Commitment To Iran Ceasefire, Warns It Hinges On Tehran
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has said that Israel will uphold the ceasefire agreement with Iran, but only if Tehran does the same.
“Israel will honor the ceasefire, provided the other side does too,” Katz stated after a phone call with U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
In a message posted on X, Katz thanked Hegseth and praised President Donald Trump for what he called a “bold decision” to stand with Israel against Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
He also highlighted that Hegseth commended the Israeli military for its “historic accomplishments” during the 12-day war and said both sides agreed to further deepen U.S.-Israel security ties going forward.
'We rose like a lion': Netanyahu Hails ‘Historic Victory’
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared what he called a “historic victory” over Iran, saying the recent conflict would be remembered for generations.
“We rose like a lion, and our roar shook Tehran. This war will be studied in military academies across the world. We struck and destroyed key nuclear sites in Arak, Natanz and Isfahan," he said in his first remarks after the ceasefire.
He warned that Israel would not allow Iran to rebuild. “If Iran tries to resurrect its nuclear program, we will dismantle it again.”
Netanyahu also linked the conflict to broader regional goals, vowing to “complete the mission against the Iranian axis of evil” by freeing Israeli captives and eliminating Hamas.
Meanwhile, Iranian leaders have also claimed victory, insisting that Israel and the United States sought a ceasefire without achieving their core objectives—crippling Iran’s missile and nuclear capabilities.
Iran: ‘12-Day War Has Ended’
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has announced the conclusion of what he called the “12-day war” with Israel, marking the beginning of a fragile truce.
Speaking to the nation, Pezeshkian said, “With the unwavering resistance of our people — whose resolve shapes history — we now witness the war’s end and the start of a ceasefire, following days of Israeli provocation and reckless aggression,” as reported by state-run IRNA.

Trump Says Israel And Iran Have Agreed To Ceasefire Deal
US President Donald Trump has declared that both Israel and Iran have reached an agreement for a full ceasefire. According to his statement, the deal marks a step toward bringing the ongoing conflict to a close.
Here’s what President Trump said on social media regarding the ceasefire:
CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!
Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL.
On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, “THE 12 DAY WAR.”
This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!
Iran May Cut Ties With UN Nuclear Watchdog, Says Parliament Speaker
Iran is weighing a possible halt to its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), according to a statement posted online by parliamentary speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf.
He said lawmakers are working on legislation that would formally suspend Iran’s engagement with the UN’s nuclear body, accusing the agency of being biased and unprofessional in its dealings with Tehran.
Tensions have been rising since the IAEA passed a resolution last month criticizing Iran for not being transparent about its nuclear activities.
Israel Warns Tehran’s District 7 Residents To Evacuate
In a rare and provocative move, the Israeli military has called on civilians in Tehran’s District 7 to leave the area, warning of an imminent strike.
Avichay Adraee, the Israeli army’s Arabic-language spokesperson, posted the warning on social media, stating that military operations would soon target infrastructure linked to the Iranian regime.
The announcement mirrors similar evacuation alerts Israel has issued in conflict zones like southern Lebanon and Gaza — a strategy aimed at clearing civilians ahead of planned strikes.
Qatar Reopens Skies After Missile Scare; US Embassy Resumes Normal Operations
Qatar has reopened its airspace following a short-lived shutdown triggered by a sudden volley of 19 missiles launched from Iranian territory. The move signals a return to calm after hours of uncertainty and heightened alert.
Meanwhile, the US embassy in Doha has withdrawn its earlier advisory urging American citizens to take shelter. A notice posted on its official site confirmed the update, saying, “The embassy will reopen tomorrow, and consular services will proceed as usual without disruption.”
‘We’ll Fight To The End’: Iran Vows Relentless Defense Of Its People
Iran has vowed to stand firm in the face of rising tensions, with government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani declaring the country’s position in no uncertain terms. In a message posted online, she wrote, “We never start wars and that has always been our principle. But when it comes to protecting our people and their dignity, we will fight back with everything we have, right until the very end.”
China Says US Strike On Iran Erodes Global Trust
Beijing has sharply criticised the recent U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites, saying they have weakened Washington’s standing on the global stage and risked pushing the region toward deeper chaos.
China’s envoy to the United Nations, Fu Cong, called for calm and urged all sides to avoid rushing into more violence. “This kind of action doesn’t just wound Iran - it chips away at America’s credibility, both as a global power and as a serious player in international diplomacy,” he said, speaking to Chinese state media.
A piece in the Global Times echoed this view, warning that foreign military interventions only reopen old wounds and sow deeper resentment in an already fragile region.

EU’s Kallas To Confront Israel Over Rights Report
European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said she plans to raise serious concerns with Israel after a recent EU review flagged potential violations of human rights commitments.
The review, carried out by the EU’s diplomatic arm, found what it described as signs that Israel may have breached human rights clauses tied to its partnership agreement with the bloc.
Speaking at a press conference, Kallas said she would now “take up the findings directly with Israeli officials".
Israel’s Foreign Ministry has dismissed the EU’s report entirely, calling it both “morally flawed” and “methodologically unsound". The matter was debated by EU ministers earlier this week.
'Everything Is Smoothly, No Immediate Threat': Qatar Says One Iranian Missile Landed, Calm Restored
Authorities in Qatar have said the situation in the country is now fully under control. Public safety officials stressed that everything is running smoothly again, and there is no immediate threat to residents or visitors.
Jabr al-Naimi of Public Security spoke on state television, reassuring the citizens. He said Qatar will not let foreign tensions or outside conflicts disrupt daily life inside the country.
The Foreign Ministry echoed that message. They confirmed that things are returning to normal and repeated their call for dialogue between the parties involved in the fighting.
Qatar also gave an update on the missile strike. Of the 19 missiles launched from Iran, only one landed at the Al Udeid Air Base. It caused no injuries.
Meanwhile, neighbouring Kuwait has reopened its airspace. Flights in and out of Kuwait International Airport are now back on schedule after a short pause in operations.
IAEA Chief: US Strike Likely Caused Heavy Damage To Iran’s Nuclear Sites
Rafael Grossi, who leads the UN’s nuclear agency, believes the US bombing run on Iran’s nuclear sites may have dealt serious damage.
Speaking about the recent strikes, the IAEA director pointed to the kind of weapons used and the fragile nature of centrifuges inside the facilities. “Given the type of explosive used and how sensitive these machines are, the damage is likely to be very significant,” he said.
That said, Grossi made it clear that the full extent of the destruction is still unknown. In particular, he mentioned Fordow - a major underground site - and admitted that no agency, including his own, has been able to inspect or verify what’s been hit below the surface.
Trump Calls Iran’s Missile Strike 'Weak', Says US Was Informed in Advance
U.S. President Donald Trump has downplayed Iran’s missile strike on the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, saying no American lives were lost and only minimal damage occurred.
Taking to social media, Trump said the United States had received early warning from Tehran about the strike, which allowed them to take necessary precautions.
“There were no casualties. Barely any damage. It looks like they have vented whatever anger they had,” Trump wrote.
He also said he was hopeful this would be the end of hostilities, adding, “Maybe now Iran can move toward peace. I will be urging Israel to consider the same path.”
Trump’s post painted the attack as more symbolic than serious, and he hinted that Washington saw no need for a military response at this stage.
Oman Condemns Iran’s Strike On Qatar, Says Israel Triggered The Crisis
Oman has strongly criticised Iran’s missile attack on the U.S. base in Qatar, calling it a breach of Doha’s sovereignty and a troubling development for the region.
In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry, Muscat did not hold back. It said the situation spiralled after Israel launched airstrikes on Iran earlier this month.
“The Sultanate of Oman denounces the current escalation unfolding in the region,” the statement read, adding that the chain of events began with what it described as an illegal Israeli strike on June 13.
Oman urged all sides to exercise restraint and avoid dragging the region into further instability.
Qatar Says Situation Under Control After Iranian Strike, Urges Residents To Stay Calm
Qatar has assured its citizens that everything remains under control following Iran’s missile strike on the U.S. military base near Doha. In a statement released late Monday, the Interior Ministry said the security situation across the country is “stable” and there is “no cause for concern".
Authorities also urged the public to avoid spreading rumours or sharing unverified news. “Please rely only on official sources,” the statement said.
The ministry added that all necessary steps are being taken to keep the public safe and ensure daily life continues without disruption.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has sent a firm message as tensions grip the region. In a post shared on his official social media account, Khamenei said Iran has not attacked anyone but will firmly resist any form of aggression.
“We won’t surrender to any attacker,” he wrote. “This is the unwavering stance of the Iranian people.”
The message comes at a time when the country faces growing pressure after launching a missile strike on a U.S. base in Qatar.
'Flagrant Violation': Bahrain Condemns Iran’s Strike On Qatar, Backs Doha
Bahrain has strongly denounced Iran’s missile attack on the US military base in Qatar, calling it a clear breach of Qatari sovereignty and a violation of international norms.
In an official statement, Bahrain said the strike was “a flagrant violation” of Qatar’s airspace and a direct challenge to the principles of the UN Charter. The kingdom also expressed its full backing for Doha, voicing solidarity with Qatar as tensions flare across the region.
“These are critical and sensitive times for the Gulf,” the statement read, “and Bahrain stands firmly with Qatar as it faces this serious escalation".
Full Text: Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Justifies Missile Strike On US Base In Qatar, Vows More If Provoked
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has released a detailed statement claiming responsibility for the missile strike on the U.S. military’s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Below is the complete translated version of the IRGC’s declaration:
Full text: IRGC statement on Al Udeid base attack
Here’s the translated version of the full statement by the IRGC on the attack it launched earlier today:
“To the noble and resilient people of Iran:
“Following the blatant military aggression by the criminal regime of the United States of America against the peaceful nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its clear violation of international law, and based on the decision of the Supreme National Security Council and the leadership of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters (PBUH), the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has, under the sacred code name “Ya Aba Abdillah al-Hussain (AS),” launched a powerful and devastating missile attack on the Al-Udeid Airbase in Qatar as part of Operation Good News of Victory.
“This base serves as the command center of the US Air Force and is the largest strategic asset of the American terrorist army in West Asia.
“The message of this decisive action by the sons of our nation in the armed forces to the White House and its allies is clear and direct:
The Islamic Republic of Iran, relying on Almighty God and supported by the faithful and proud people of Islamic Iran, will under no circumstances leave any aggression against its territorial integrity, sovereignty, or national security unanswered.
“The American enemy’s aggression has once again exposed that Zionist malevolence is a continuation of US schemes. Accordingly, we emphasize that in this national defense, US bases and mobile military assets in the region are not points of strength, but rather major vulnerabilities and the Achilles’ heel of this warmongering regime.
“On the eve of Muharram—the month of mourning for the Master of Martyrs, Imam Hussain (AS)—we once again warn the enemies of Islamic Iran:
“The era of hit-and-run is over.
“The resolve of our powerful and popular armed forces is such that any repetition of hostile acts will accelerate the collapse of U.S. military structures in the region, lead to their disgraceful retreat from West Asia, and contribute to the realization of the shared aspiration of the Islamic Ummah and freedom-seeking nations around the world: the eradication of the cancerous Zionist regime.”
From Doha To Paris, How World Reacts To Iran’s Missile Strike On US Base In Qatar
The Iranian missile attack on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar has triggered strong reactions from around the world. From allies to adversaries, governments are speaking out—some condemning Iran, others calling for calm and a few choosing their words carefully.
Qatar: Doha did not hold back. The Qatari Foreign Ministry called the strike “a flagrant violation” of the country’s sovereignty, its airspace and international law. The statement made it clear - this attack crossed a red line.
United States: A U.S. defense official confirmed the missile strike but added that, so far, there are no reported casualties. Washington has yet to reveal what its next steps will be.
Iran: Tehran is trying to draw a distinction. In a statement from its Supreme National Security Council, Iran said the strike was not intended to harm Qatar or its people. “This action posed no danger to our friendly and brotherly nation of Qatar and its honorable people,” the statement read.
Iran emphasised that it values its “warm and historic” ties with Doha.
France: French President Emmanuel Macron urged all sides to step back. He called for restraint and a return to diplomacy, warning against what he described as "the spiral of chaos".
Saudi Arabia: Riyadh issued a firm condemnation, describing the Iranian strike as an “aggression” and a “flagrant violation” of international law and the basic principles of good neighbourly relations. The message from Saudi Arabia was direct—and unforgiving.
Israel: Israel went further than most. A military spokesperson labelled Iran a “terrorist state” and said the missile strike was just the latest proof of Tehran’s global threat. “Iran threatens not only Israel but the entire Middle East and the world,” said military spokesman Effie Defrin during a televised briefing.
Lebanon: Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam expressed his support for Qatar. In a post on X, he wrote, “I condemn in the strongest terms the attack that the sisterly state of Qatar was subjected to… I ask God to protect it and its people from any harm.”
The global response paints a picture that the world is watching, tempers are flaring and the risk of further escalation remains dangerously real.

Air India has suspended all flights to the Middle East and several routes connecting India to the East Coast of North America and Europe. The move comes in response to the growing security crisis in the region.
In a statement, the airline said, “Amid the developing situation in the Middle East, Air India has ceased all operations to the region as well as to and from the East Coast of North America and Europe with immediate effect, until further notice.”
Flights already en route to India from North America are being turned around, while others are either being diverted back to India or rerouted to avoid restricted airspaces.
The airline called on passengers to bear with them during this period of uncertainty. “We request the understanding of all passengers who may be affected by this disruption that's beyond an airline's control,” the spokesperson said.
Air India added that it is working closely with its external security advisors and watching the situation closely. “The safety and security of our passengers and staff remain our number one priority,” the airline assured.

The timing adds weight to Macron’s message. That window now appears to be closing, as military tensions push diplomacy to the sidelines.
