US President Donald Trump on Thursday said that Washington is pulling some of its military personnel from the Middle East as the region could be a dangerous place.

"They (US military personnel) are being moved out (of some countries of the Middle East) because it could be a dangerous place and we will see what happens...We have given notice to move out," ANI quoted Trump as saying.

Trump also stressed that the US will not allow Iran to have nuclear weapons.

"They can't have a nuclear weapon. Very simple. They can't have a nuclear weapon. We're not going to allow that," ANI quoted Trump as saying.

Trump's remarks came after a failed round of talks between the US and Iran over its nuclear program.

The US State Department and the military on Wednesday ordered the withdrawal of all non-essential personnel from operations in the Middle East due to the possibility of regional unrest.

As per media reports, the department has also allowed non-essential personnel and family members to leave Bahrain and Kuwait, giving them the option to leave the country.

In addition, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has authorised the voluntary departure of military dependents from locations across the Middle East, a US official said.

Additionally, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has authorised the voluntary departure of military dependents from locations in the Middle East, ANI quoted a US official as saying.

Another US official said the order is mainly relevant to family members based in Bahrain, where most of them live.

Tensions have been rising in the region in recent days, as talks between the US and Iran over its rapidly expanding nuclear programme have reached an impasse.

Earlier, Iran's mission to the United Nations posted on social media that "Iran does not seek to develop nuclear weapons, and US militarism only promotes instability."

Meanwhile, according to media reports, Iranian Defence Minister General Aziz Nasirzadeh on Wednesday said that his country would attack US military installations in the region if there is a conflict with the US.
