A slew of steps like removal of regulatory hurdles are underway to enhance India's coal output in a bid to curb rising imports that may touch 265 MT in FY'17, Coal Minister Piyush Goyal said today.

Power Minister Piyush Goyal today said the target of adding 1,18,537 MW capacity for the current Plan period will not only be achieved but can even exceed.

The mid-term appraisal of the 12th Five Year Plan (2012-17), which envisages annual economic growth rate of 8 percent, is scheduled for the current fiscal ending March 31, Parliament was informed today.

The government has planned additional renewable energy capacity addition of around 30,000 MW (5,000 MW wind, 10,000 MW solar and 2,100 small hydro).

The government has allocated Rs 24,124 crore to boost the country's micro, small and medium enterprises sector during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period (2012-17), an increase of 133.53 percent over the Eleventh Plan, Parliament was on Wednesday informed.

The government had set a revenue target of Rs 7,522.02 crore for the Postal Services in 2011-12, while the Department registered revenue of Rs 7,899.40 crore.
