The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad HC has set aside the life imprisonment awarded to 43 PAC personnel in the 1991 Pilibhit fake encounter case
In the Pilibhit fake encounter case, 10 Sikhs were killed after being branded terrorists.
The HC convicted them under section 304 (Part 1) of the IPC, sentenced them to 7 years of rigorous imprisonment, and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each

A special CBI court on Monday awarded life sentence to a group of 47 policemen for killing 10 Sikh pilgrims in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh in 1991.
