The state government has appointed Airports Authority of India (AAI) as a consultant for preparing techno feasibility studies for existing airstrips and feasibility studies for the greenfield airports.

This is expected to enhance the revenue to AAI and increased economic development in these areas in terms of job creation and related infrastructure.

AAI manages some 125 airports in different parts of the country.
