As per the plea the enrollment list containing names of selected candidates had to be published on July 10, 2021
Centre introduced the new Agnipath Scheme this year on June 24, 2022
He joined other industry leaders like Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, RPG Enterprises Chairman Harsh Goenka, Biocon Ltd Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Apollo Hospitals Group Joint Managing Director Sangita Reddy who have come out in support of the Agnipath recruitment scheme.

The Agnipath scheme, announced on June 14, provides for the recruitment of youths between the age bracket of 17-and-half years to 21 for only four years with a provision to retain 25 percent of them for 15 more years. Later the government extended the upper age limit to 23 years for recruitment in 2022.
Amid several defence job aspirants taking to the streets against the Agnipath scheme, the Delhi CM stated that the youth are "unhappy".
The announcement comes a day after the Centre unveiled the "Agnipath" scheme for the recruitment of soldiers in the Indian Army, Navy and Indian Air Force on a four-year contractual basis.
The individuals, selected for enrolment in the Armed Forces as regular cadre, would be required to serve for a further engagement period of minimum 15 years and would be governed by the existing terms and conditions of service of Junior Commissioned Officers/Other Ranks in Indian Army and their equivalent in Indian Navy and Indian Air Force and that of Non Combatant enrolled in the Indian Air Force, as amended from time to time.
