Ananda Krishnan Son Monk: Ajahn Siripanyo, the son of Malaysia’s third-richest man, travelled to Thailand at the age of 18 to meet his mother, Momwajarongse Suprinda Chakraban, and her family. Ven Ajahn Siripanyo has spent nearly 20 years as a forest monk and currently serves as the abbot of the Dtao Dum Monastery near the Thailand-Myanmar border. His life mirrors the story in Robin Sharma's bestselling novel 'The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari', where a wealthy lawyer, Julian Mantle, gives up material wealth for spiritual enlightenment.
Ven Ajahn Siripanyo has been living the monastic life for more than 20 years.
At the moment, he oversees the Thailand-based Dtao Dum Monastery.
Siripanyo is also believed to be able to speak up to eight different languages with ease.
