The move has been taken following the violence in the national capital on Tuesday during the tractor parade on the occasion of Republic Day.

The farmers began their march to Parliament Street on Friday amid heavy policy deployment, to press for their demands, including debt relief and remunerative prices for their produce.

The farmers, who marched to Ramlila Ground on Thursday and will reach Parliament Street on Friday, came from different corners of the country, including Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.

The farmers were travelling from Delhi to Maharashtra after attending a protest demanding waiver on bad debt.

Farmers from across India are expected to 'gherao' the Parliament to demand for "better prices for their produce and complete freedom from debt".
