The Amarnath Yatra Shrine Board announced that the yatra will run from 28 June to 22 August this year
Amid the rising cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 across the nation, the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) on Tuesday cancelled the Amarnath Yatra for this year. Earlier, the authorities had said that the yatra would begin July 21 and continue till August 3. However, the decision is now being rolled back.
The Board said that it will continue the Live Telecast/ Virtual Darshan of the morning and evening Aarti.
The sources added that full security arrangements will be made for the pilgrims and only 500 devotees will be allowed to go to the cave per day.

Asserting that the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra will begin in a "restricted manner" due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Saturday said that only 500 pilgrims per day will be allowed to visit the 3,880-meter-high cave shrine from Jammu.
The Board expressed its apprehension and held that as on date, it may not be possible to organize the Yatra 2020.
It's good news for devotees who wish to visit Amarnath. Shrine board has announced the dates for 2020 season. This time the duration of the Amarnath Yatra extended to 42 days which will begin from June 23.
