Lovenia Scott, a former employee of Amazon`s fulfilment centre in Vacaville, California, alleged that the company didn`t provide enough rest breaks for workers. First filed in San Francisco County Superior Court in February, the case has now been moved to US District Court California, Northern District. Earlier this month, Amazon and an independent contractor it worked within California were fined $6.4 million for wage theft by the Labor Commission`s Office.

The new fulfilment centre is situated in Bhiwandi, and will service more than 13,000 sellers in the Mumbai metropolitan region (MMR).

Global e-commerce major Amazon, which Wednesday opened its seventh fulfilment centre (FC) in Maharashtra, has agreed to consider the state as its anchor investment destination for operations in the country, an official said.

Amazon Seller Services (ASSPL) Wednesday announced the opening of a fulfilment centre in Doraha on the outskirts of Ludhiana.
