A police officer was suspended after he unintentionally fired his rifle at a mobile shop employee in Amritsar.

All three accused were sent to police custody for six days. Mortal remains of Lakhbir Singh were cremated at his native village. The murder took place in the wee hours of Friday on the Singhu border.

Two more Nihangs have surrendered to the police in connection with the gruesome murder. The victim’s family demanded a high-level probe into the episode.

Amritsar Rural Police arrest the second accused in the matter, Narayan Singh from Rakh Devidass Pura, Amarkot village in Punjab.

Two women in Punjab's Amritsar jumped out of a moving car to avoid molestation bid from the driver. Locals intercepted the cab and rescued a third woman who was also in the car. The driver has been arrested.
