NASA says the trio will land in their Soyuz MS-02 spacecraft southeast of the remote town of Dzhezkazgan in Kazakhstan at 7:21 a.m. EDT (5:21 p.m. Kazakhstan time).
NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough and cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Andrey Borisenko of the Russian space agency Roscosmos on Friday have finally arrived at the International Space Station (ISS).
As per NASA, the docking to the ISS will begin at 5:15 a.m EDT and NASA TV will broadcast the docking live.
Russian Soyuz MS-02 spacecraft carrying crew members of Expedition 49/50 successfully lifted off for the International Space Station on Wednesday.
NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough, along with Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Andrey Borisenko, will travel for two days in the Soyuz MS-02 spacecraft to test upgraded spacecraft systems before docking to the space station’s Poisk module at 5:59 am on Friday, October 21. NASA TV coverage of the docking will begin at 5:15 am, as per NASA schedule.
The astronauts will be spending five months aboard the ISS.
