NASA shared a three-dimensional view of Arp 273 which has been captured by the Hubble Space Telescope. It illustrates the interaction between two galaxies.
The Large Magellanic Cloud is the brightest satellite galaxy of the Milky Way and only entered our neighbourhood about 1.5 billion years ago. It sits about 163,000 light years from the Milky Way.
The research suggests scientists previously overestimated the amount of dark matter in the Andromeda galaxy.
