Bipin Rawat was making a controlled effort to reorganize the Armed Forces and bring them into Integrated Theater Commands so that the forces work more efficiently. But now as the Chief of Defense Staff, Lt Gen (R.) Anil Chauhan will have many responsibilities along with it. He will be the military advisor to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the Tri-Services Nuclear Command Authority or Nuclear Command Authority

Retired Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan has been appointed as the new Chief of Defense Staff. The post of CDS was vacant after the death of CDS General Bipin Rawat.
