Nearly eight decades after Netaji allegedly passed away on August 18, 1945, Subhas Chandra Bose's demise is still unknown. Many people think he died in a plane crash in Formosa, then under the Japanese administration (now Taiwan), while others disagree. A number of Netaji's Indian relatives also made repeated requests to the govt to find out Netaji's whereabouts after he left Taiwan.

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's only child Anita Bose Pfaff has long been saying that Netaji's relics are in the Renkoji temple. Several Indian relatives of Netaji also requested the government several times to find out where Netaji had gone from Taiwan. Anita was only four months old when Netaji moved from Germany to South East Asia to fight the British.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday declassified the secret files relating to great freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

Family members of Netaji and some leaders are expected to be present on the occasion.

The secret files related to Subhas Chandra Bose will be declassified by the central government beginning 23 January.

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's daughter Anita Bose Pfaff will not attend the meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week.
