Her upcoming film 'Eileen', a darkly funny thriller that was premiered on Saturday at the Sundance Film Festival, offers up two killer roles for Hathaway and Thomasin McKenzie as a psychologist and a prison secretary who are drawn together in unexpected ways.
But the film carried an emotional resonance for Hathaway, she revealed to the crowd during a post-screening Q&A, reports 'Variety'.
It is a remake of 1988 comedy "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels", which was itself inspired by the 1964 film "Bedtime Story".
Despite her success, the "Ocean's 8" star says she hasn't been able to "stop hustling".
The actor and her husband welcomed Jonathan in April 2016.
She further described the film as a "sexy, surreal, modern noir for grown ups who are into things that don't come standard".
