Just before the Rajasthan elections, the Modi government has made a major reshuffle in its cabinet. Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has been removed from his post. As the new Law Minister of India, Arjun Ram Meghwal will now handle this responsibility.

In a surprising cabinet reshuffle on Thursday, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju was divested of the Law and Justice portfolio, which was handed over to Arjun Ram Meghwal.

In a sudden development by PM Narendra Modi, Kiren Rijiju was moved out of the law ministry and replaced by Arjun Ram Meghwal.  

Kiren Rijiju has been removed from the post of Law Minister. In his place, this responsibility has been given to the party's MP Arjun Ram Meghwal.

Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State, will replace Kiren Rijiju as Minister with Independent Charge of the Law Ministry.

BJP's Mansukh Lal Mandaviya and Arjun Ram Meghwal rode their respective bicycles from their homes for the swearing-in ceremony.

Meghwal also alleged that PM Modi's detractors are trying to defame his government by raking up the lynching incidents.

In a 20-second video, Meghwal is seen sitting among a crowd of fellow passengers and enquiring about the functioning of the train.

When asked about removal of Security Transactions Tax (STT) and Commodity Transactions Tax (CTT) from the stock markets, he said that the issue would be taken up with the regulators in future.

Defending the different slabs, he said the central government was trying to introduce the new tax system with the consent of states and did not want to impose it.
