Telecom major Bharti Airtel on Wednesday reported around 31 percent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,462 crore for the first quarter of 2016-17 mainly due to high capital expenditure during the period.

The monthly average revenue per user (ARPU) of GSM operators increased by 5.8 percent year-on-year to Rs 118.
The company saw a decline in ARPU in local currency by 7% to Rs 98 in the first quarter on an annual basis.
The mobile user base is expected to grow to 815 million this year, from 755 million connections in 2013, it said.
