The Punjab police have given a clean chit to Indian hockey skipper Sardar Singh, who was accused of sexual and mental harassment by an India-origin England Under-19 women's hockey player.

She submitted photographs and call details between her and Sardar to the SIT.

The Indian captain also said that the woman misused his Twitter account and even though he had met her before London Olympics 2012, he hadn't met her in the last few years and he was never engaged to her.

Sardar said that even though he was good friends with Ashpal, he hadn't met her in the last two to three years.

Ashpal stated that she had no other option and after the incident Sardar doesn't speak to her and has maintained no contact.

HI official threw his weight behind Sardar Singh and even launched counter-attack on the complainant.

The Indian skipper agreed that the allegations were very serious and clearly denied being engaged to Bhogal.

Sardar and Ashpal are said to have met during the 2012 London Olympics, where India had finished last.

The girl said that she was engaged to Sardar for four years and he mentally and physically harassed her.
