"The matric and higher secondary examinations for 2021 have been cancelled as the positivity rate due to the prevailing COVID situation," Assam minister said.
Two committees will be formed for deciding the formula on which students will be evaluated.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had said that Class 10 and 12 state board examinations will be held only if COVID-19 positivity rate drops below two per cent.
The board exams are likely to be held from July 15, PTI reported.
The board exams will be held for one or two days with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols and the question papers will be objective, the Assam CM said.
Assam has a COVID-19 positivity rate of 3.24 percent currently.
While addressing a press conference at the national capital, the Assam chief minister said a decision in this regard will be taken after consultation with all stakeholders as it is a question of a students’ future.
