The Chief Ministers of Assam and Mizoram met in New Delhi on Friday in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and discussed ways to resolve their border issues peacefully.
Assam decided to revoke the travel advisory issued earlier which warned its citizens from traveling to Mizoram.
In the advisory issued on July 30, the Assam government warned its people from travelling to Mizoram.
Mizoram also consoled the deaths of the Assam police personnel who died during a fierce gun battle between the two states.
Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati has reached Delhi to meet Prime Minister Modi amid the ongoing tension on the Assam-Mizoram border. In this meeting, the Governor of Mizoram briefed Prime Minister Modi about the current situation on the border between the two states. Seven policemen were killed in Assam in unprecedented clashes a week ago.

Mizoram Chief Secretary Lalnunmawia Chuango on Sunday said the state government is ready to withdraw the FIR filed against Assam CM Sarma.
Centre is engaged in efforts to settle the dispute between the two states.
The Center on Wednesday held a meeting with senior officials, chief secretaries, and DGPs (Director General of Police) of Assam and Mizoram following the violence on their border. Assam Chief Secretary said after the meeting that both Assam and Mizoram have agreed to deploy paramilitary forces in disturbed border areas along National Highway 306.

Officials from both sides, including chief ministers, accused each other of inciting violence. Assam shares a 164 km (about 101 mi) border with Mizoram, and both states oppose its demarcation.
