In the previous term of the AAP government, the Kejriwal cabinet had Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, Gopal Rai, Imran Hussain, Rajendra Pal Gautam and Kailash Gahlot besides Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

South Delhi Lok Sabha seat has 10 Assembly constituencies - Bijwasan, Palam, Mehrauli, Chhatarpur, Deoli, Ambedkar Nagar, Sangam Vihar, Kalkaji, Tughlakabad, and Badarpur. Of these assembly seats, AAP managed to win 9, while BJP got the victory in merely one seat of Badarpur.   

In Chandini Chowk Lok Sabha constituency, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) managed to win all the Assembly seats including Adarsh Nagar, Shalimar Bagh, Shakur Basti, Tri Nagar, Wazirpur, Model Town, Sadar Bazar, Chandni Chowk, Matia Mahal, and Ballimaran.

All the 10 Assembly seats under the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency voted in favour of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party. 

Singh said that the BJP used "all its power, hate, money and energy in Delhi, but the people gave the mandate to its son", referring to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The AAP workers started celebrations at its Delhi office ahead of the announcement of final results for the 70-member Assembly seats.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has maintained a solid lead of 8000 votes in his New Delhi constituency against his rival candidate Sunil Yadav since early trends started coming in. 

In the 2015 assembly poll, the AAP had won 67 seats, the BJP 3, while Congress failed to open its account. 

The counting will decide the fate of about 672 candidates from the Aam Aadmi Party, BJP and Congress today in a three-cornered contest.

The counting of votes is taking place at 21 centres amid tight security arrangements. Over 670 candidates are in the fray for 70 seats at stake in the country`s capital.

Aam Aadmi Party has crossed the majority mark of 36 as per early trends, while the BJP is on course to improve its 2015 seat count.

In the wake of ongoing anti-CAA protest in Shaheen Bagh, the Delhi CEO's Office had put all five polling stations in the area under the "critical" category. Security personnel was deputed at strong rooms storing electronic voting machines.

The counting of votes on Tuesday (February 11) begins for the 70-member Assembly seats to decide the fate of about 672 candidates from the Aam Aadmi Party, BJP and Congress in a three-cornered contest. 

The BJP, which strived hard to counter the AAP, is predicted be once again remain the runner up according to all the exit polls, while the Congress is once again facing a wipeout.

Terming Delhiites as "Rashtravadi" and "Deshbhakt", the BJP MP said, "We won`t let Delhi breakaway," while ended his tweet video with "Jai Shri Ram". 

The Delhi election exit polls will predict the seat tally and vote percentage of AAP, BJP, Congress, and others. Zee News will telecast the Maha Exit Poll, which is an amalgamation of the exit polls by different agencies, from 6 pm.

Chacko said the Congress is fighting on the issue of development and people are also voting on this plank. 

The voters of Neb Sarai, one of Asia's largest unauthorised colony in the national capital, came out in large numbers to exersice their right to choose their representative for the Delhi Assembly.

Kalitara Mandal, a 1908 born Bengali speaking woman, who cast her vote at South Delhi Municipal Corporation Primary School at Chittaranjan Park in Greater Kailash Assembly constituency, was provided a special vehicle at her Chittaranjan Park residence to visit the polling booth.
