Defence Minister Rajnath Singh complimented DRDO and the Indian Army for successful performance of the Laser Guided ATGMs.
An indigenously developed laser-guided anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) was successfully test fired, defeating a target located at longer range.
It was the second such successful test firing of the missile, having a range of up to 5 km, in the last 10 days, officials said.
The weapon was test fired from an MBT Arjun Tank at KK Ranges in Armoured Corps Centre and School (ACC&S) in Ahmednagar.
Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Tuesday (September 29) successfully test fired its Laser-Guided Anti Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) from MBT Arjun Tank.
According to DRDO, in these tests, ATGM successfully defeated a target at 3 km.
On Tuesday, the DRDO also conducted the successful flight test of ABHYAS--High-speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT).
The Helicopter-launched Nag (HeliNa) is derived from the land-launched Nag missile.
