Located in Uttarakhand's Badrinath town, the temple is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites revered in Hinduism.
The pilgrimage season peaks in Uttarakhand for the Char Dham Yatra annually during the summers.
An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Radha Raturi regarding Chardham Yatra and important instructions were received from the Chief Secretary.
The weather took a turn and once again made people feel cold. Not only this, the hills of the higher Himalayan regions including Badrinath-Kedarnath-Gangotri in Uttarakhand have once again started shining like silver due to snowfall. There was overnight snowfall in Badrinath-Kedarnath Dham, while rain continued in the low-lying areas.
Char Dham Yatra: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has assured pilgrims that no one should have any doubts and fears in their mind about the Joshimath land sinking crisis and the Char Dham Yatra will be conducted safely.

The Himalayan temple is closed every year at the onset of winter and reopened at the start of summer.
The date for the opening of the temple gates is decided on the basis of the Tehri King's horoscope.
The gates of Lord Badri will be closed for the winter. To make this occasion memorable, the Devasthanam Board is busy with preparations. The Badrinath temple has been decorated with 20 quintals of colorful flowers.
PM Modi said, "the state government should envision and design development projects for holy sites like Kedarnath and Badrinath in a way and manner that stands the test of time and is yet eco-friendly and in harmony with nature and its surroundings."
The Uttarakhand government wanted to open the Badrinath Dham for common devotees so that the economy of the region could be back on the track, but the Char Dham Devasthanam Board is yet to take a decision regarding the commencement of the yatra.
The volume of pilgrims is equal to that of those reaching Badrinath Dham. Over 6 lakh devotees have already visited Kedarnath Dham this year. According to the district administration, about 20,000 devotees are reaching every day. Watch this video to know more.
