PM Narendra Modi on Saturday lauded the efforts of Bandipur Tiger Reserve staff for their timely efforts to save a female elephant who got electrocuted.

The female elephant stuck in a mud puddle and was trying its best to get out of it but, its heavy body weight did not let it get out. When the Forest department of the National Park got to know about the elephant, they arranged a JCB to rescue it.

The forest fire for the past five days has gutted thousands of acres of land and is feared to have killed hundreds of wild animals, reptiles and insects.
