Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is the Indian version of PUBG Mobile, exclusively for players in the country developed and published by Krafton.

According to the company, the new edition of the game is also a lot lighter. While the play store download size is roughly 860 MB, the file size of the build on the website is 600 MB. Users who are currently playing the prior version can now install the latest version over the old game.

The game developer also said that BGMI has completed one year of being the most loved game in India."BGMI's first year has been a resounding success with millions of players joining to experience the game. 

The webtoons that will go live include the first six episodes of Night of Silence, Retreats and 100, each portrayed in different genres -- thriller, fantasy and action, respectively. The company said that this comes in partnership with digital storytelling platform Pratilipi.

A total of 512 teams are expected to battle in Round 1 of the tournament. 32 teams that will qualify in the tournament will progress to the BGMI Pro Series. Gamers stand a chance of winning a Rs 75 lakh cash prize by winning the BGMI Pro Series.

The company said this move is in line with the company's zero-tolerance policy towards cheaters and its efforts to eradicate the use of illegal programmes and activities in the game.

Garena Free Fire comes up with free redeem codes each day. The codes make playing the mobile game much more exciting. Garena Free Fire is a rival to PUBG and Battleground Mobile India.

Previously, Krafton used to sanction the offending accounts. Krafton made the announcement via a blog post on BGMI’s website. Krafton revealed that so far, approximately one lakh BGMI accounts have been banned permanently.

Krafton had previously pointed out that gamers under 18 will require consent from their parents to play the game. On similar lines, the company has introduced OTP verification from parents. The OTP will work as a key to playing the BGMI game.

The 'Game Responsibly' initiative will also show warning messages along with break reminders, game limits and more.

Krafton has also unveiled a new BGMI logo in the colours of the Indian flag. In July, the updated BGMI game was released on Android, followed by iOS a month later. Krafton has imposed a BGMI ban on dishonest gamers.

Battlegrounds Mobile India announced the special rewards for Ganesh Chaturthi and it will be live till September 21. The most important award is the elephant printed t-shirt that marks the auspicious occasion. Recently Krafton announced its detailed 24-hour security system that has been designed to instantly ban cheaters along with a Hindi voice pack.
