'Beating Retreat' ceremony has begun at Vijay Chowk in New Delhi on Saturday, marking the formal end of Republic Day celebrations. To commemorate 75 years of independence, this function was celebrated as 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'. The laser show was organized here for the first time. Drone show was also organized in which the sky was colored through one thousand indigenous drones.

A novel drone show will be one of the major attractions of this year's 'Beating the Retreat' ceremony.
It will be graced by President Kovind, PM Modi at Vijay Chowk in New Delhi.
The show would be of 10 minutes involving drones fabricated through indigenous technology.

1000 Make in India drones are rehearsing for the Beating the Retreat ceremony to be held at Vijay Chowk in Delhi on January 29. India will be the fourth country after China, Russia and the UK to host the show on such a large scale with 1,000 drones.

The Beating the Retreat ceremony that is held daily at the at Attari-Wagah Border will not be held on Friday as Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman is expected to be back around 4-5 pm.
