West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's fate will be decided today (October 3) as the results for the crucial Bhabanipur by-election will be announced. In other news, paddy procurement will commence in the states of Haryana and Punjab. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals batter Yashasvi Jaiswal went on to complete his maiden IPL fifty, reaching the milestone in just 19 deliveries.

Bhabanipur bypoll has become a battle of prestige for West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, who is presently not an MLA. BJP has fielded 41-year-old Priyanka Tibrewal against the TMC supremo. A lawyer by profession, Tibrewal is the vice-president of the West Bengal unit of BJP Yuva Morcha. 

“This is a fight against injustice. This is a fight for justice, for the people of West Bengal. I would like to tell the people of Bhabanipur that they've received a big opportunity...," said BJP's Priyanka Tibrewal. 

Priyanka Tibrewal will contest against West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee. Targeting the Chief Minister over post-poll violence, Tibrewal said that the people of the state have the right to live but this right is being taken away by Mamata Banerjee and her party.

Banerjee filed her nomination for the election on Friday. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also announced Priyanka Tibriwal`s candidature from Bhabanipur against the TMC supremo.
